engineering spects of this rapidly developing technology. The company
has developed its own range of both high and low power repeater
products, currently for DAB Digital Radio broadcasting and reception
but with mobile TV on its way a DVB-T (Freeview) and DVB-H
compatible repeater will be available soon. In short, we offer a full
range of cost effective turnkey services for both Radio and Television
Broadcasters and Network Operators.
Bitstream Broadcast Ltds expertise together with trusted high-end
broadcasting engineering contractors and freelancers, go back many
years. Our staff have worked on projects as varied as engineering high
power transmitters for the BBC World Service, through to pioneering
work on BBC Digital Television and DAB, and independent local radio DAB
digital radio network rollouts.
In analogue radio, the company completed and currently maintains FM
radio installations for Dee 106.3 in Chester and Dearne FM in Barnsley.
Other previous installations by the team have included North Norfolk
Radio, The Beach, Radio Clyde and 3FM on the Isle of Man. In analogue
television, our staff acted as technical consultants to local television
operators such as Channel M Television (Manchester), Capital TV
(Cardiff), and Milestone Group plc. The work ranged from coverage
planning and verification to developing a strategy for the migration
to digital platforms.
Bitstream Broadcasts personnel are also highly experienced in providing
broadcast reception surveys to aid architects and planners. Local
authority planning departments are now required to insist that property
developers assess the likely impact of their proposed structures on
local television reception. With many high-rise developments and
windfarms now in the pipeline, this requirement is becoming more and
more important.
